7 Days/6 Nights
From cowboys and covered wagons to grizzlies and geysers, discover the best of the West with your child or grandchild—hassle-free! Our “Kids Adventures” offer a fully planned week of fun for grown-ups and children alike, with no driving...no directions...no wondering what to do next. Just relax and enjoy your time together!
Day 1—Salt Lake City: The fun begins at our kid-friendly hotel in Salt Lake City. Take the children for a swim but be sure to come to this evening’s get together. It’s a great chance to meet your new traveling friends! Welcome Reception included.
Day 2—Salt Lake City/Pocatello: Our first stop is the Kennecott Bingham Canyon Mine. We’ll gasp as giant shovels fill 320-ton trucks that deliver copper to a 5-mile conveyor belt! At American West Heritage Center, costumed guides take us back to the days when this area was settled. And we’ll dig into a scrumptious lunch.
Then north we go to Pocatello, Idaho where we’ll stay the night. Meals included: B, L.
Day 3—Bear World/West Yellowstone: Relive history at Old Fort Hall, an authentic 1830s pioneer settlement. Thrill to the “Buckskin Lady’s” tales of the Oregon Trail—it went through here!
Next stop is Yellowstone Bear World in Rexburg, Idaho as we board park vehicles to get up close and personal to Rocky Mountain Elk, American Bison, Timber Wolves, Black Bears and Grizzly Bears. The kids will love the “Cub Yard,” where baby bears wrestle and play!
Then we’ll settle into rustic West Yellowstone, Montana. Relax, enjoy the pool, go to the IMAX or browse for great souvenirs. Meals included: B, L.
Day 4—Yellowstone National Park: An experienced local guide will wow us with the most magnificent views of the park to make you ooh and ahh, including famous Old Faithful!
Enjoy the splendor of the golden-hued “Grand Canyon of Yellowstone” and stand in wonder before the Upper and Lower Falls. Our hotel tonight is a comfortable family lodge in the park. Meals included: B, L.
You’ll love the short guided hikes to wildlife viewing, brilliant vistas, thundering waterfalls and gurgling geyser basins at Yellowstone!
Day 5—Grand Teton/Jackson: Breathtaking scenery is at Grand Teton National Park—awe-inspiring mountain panoramas, vast flower-filled meadows and gorgeous spruce-covered hills. Board sturdy rafts for a float down the Snake River and marvel at the towering “sister peaks.” Look for elk, moose, bald eagles, mountain sheep and more stunning wildlife. We’ll settle into our cozy cabins in Jackson, Wyoming. Relax or stroll Jackson’s quaint downtown, a short walk away. Meals included: B.
Optional Excursion—Chuck Wagon Dinner: Join us tonight on a covered wagon ride to scenic Cache Creek Canyon. After a hearty chuck wagon dinner, you’ll clap your hands to a lively Wild West Music and Comedy Show! Price: $45 per person.
Day 6—Jackson: Today is a day to relax and enjoy the beauty of this area on your own. Or you can come along on an optional sightseeing excursion to the Tetons!
Optional Excursion—Mountain Jeep Tour: Explore the Teton Mountains on a Jeep “photo-safari.” See breathtaking scenery, wildlife and incredible beauty. Price: $60 per person.
Tonight we’ll all hoot and holler at a genuine Western rodeo. Meals included: B.
Day 7—Montpelier/Salt Lake City: Climb aboard a covered wagon at the National Oregon/California Trail Center in Montpelier, Idaho. Large murals demonstrate the vast expanse the pioneers experienced on their way west. Feel like you’re on the trail in the 1850s!
A special lunch will complete the experience, then it’ll be time to pack up and head for home—with memories you and your special young guest will cherish for years to come! Meals included: B, L.
