Good morning! Welcome to the home of World Wide Country Tours.
Celebrating our 38th anniversary in 2010, WWCT started with the simple vision of publishing icon Roy Reiman in 1972. He wanted subscribers of his dozen country-oriented magazines to see and learn what it was like to live in the gorgeous places featured in magazines like Taste of Home, Reminisce, Country, Country Woman, Farm & Ranch Living, Birds & Blooms and Simple & Delicious.
Our dedicated staff of Tour Planners have continued to bring Roy's passion to life. Offering nearly 40 unique vacations to breathtakingly beautiful "off-the beaten-path" places you will never discover on your own within the United States, Canada, Europe, Mexico and Central & South America.
As a Reader's Digest Company, WWCT provides a proven combination of experience, worldwide coverage, financial strength and integrity—a company that travelers can trust. In fact, 98% of tour travelers say they would travel with us again.
We Treat Your Vacation As Our Very Own. Our expert Tour Planners create each vacation "from scratch". They personally plan every event, scenic site, hotel accommodation and meal included in your tour. Before any guest departs, the Planner personally travels the day-by-day route, not just once, but twice. So you can relax and enjoy your vacation knowing every detail will be perfect for you. That's confidence!
Plus, WWCT does more than just show you the sights. Unlike other tour companies that limit themselves to the "usual sightseeing highlights", your itinerary includes "local-only, favorite spots"—many arranged exclusively for World Wide Country Tours. Featuring exclusive demonstrations by local craftspeople…up-close, behind-the-scenes visits to local businesses, even sit-down meals with local families, you simply can't duplicate the experiences of a World Wide Country Tours vacation! For example, you can visit a family at their alpine farm home in Switzerland, enjoy a mouth-watering lunch prepared and served by an Amish family in their home or spend an evening in a historic, 400-year-old Irish castle.
Seven brand new itineraries —
We'll visit the world-famous Oberammergau's Passion Play, performed once every ten years in the charming village of Oberammergau, Germany. The illustrious play showcasing the life, suffering, death and resurrection of Christ is the highlight of this inspirational 12-day journey through some of Europe's most magnificent mountain vistas.
North of our border, we visit Winnipeg's Folklorama for the first time. This is the longest running multicultural event in the world—giving visitors the chance to "experience" country upon country through traditional food and exhilarating performances.
In the United States, our domestic trip planners have put the finishing touches on our brand new Virginia & North Carolina Gardens tour. This 6-day trek explores some of the most majestic gardens and magnificent homes ever built in America. The fun-filled adventure through scenic Virginia and North Carolina will showcase several of the oldest gardens and landmarks in the nation.
We'll take to the rails again in 2010, adding our inaugural California's Gold Rush Rail Adventure. Participants will ride the rails through stunning redwood forests, thrill to breathtaking scenery along the Pacific coast and feel like a time traveler returning to the Gold Rush!
On our Spirit of Peoria & the Land of Lincoln tour, travelers will ride along America's first "superhighways": Route 66, the Illinois River and the Mississippi River. Along the way we'll experience Abraham Lincoln's beloved city of Springfield, Illinois, discover St. Louis from atop the Gateway Arch and cruise aboard the nostalgic paddlewheeler Spirit of Peoria for 3 days.
We'll explore the glorious Deep South on our Louisiana & Mississippi's Southern Charm tour. Romantic antebellum mansions, old-time plantation life, extraordinary visits to Cajun country, a touch of the Civil War, and delicious southern cuisine accent this tour. We'll also spend a full day in New Orleans, including a very special visit to the New Orleans School of Cooking.
And, for those who like a bit of mystique in their lives—try our Mystery Tour V. These popular programs keep our guests guessing each and every day as we travel to places just like we visit on our traditional tours—but unknown to our travelers until the moment they arrive. Our newest version departs from Kansas City.
Back in 2010—Solo Traveler Departures —
Solos of all kinds—friends, siblings, and singles—love the peace of mind of traveling with us. This year we have added specific solo departure dates to the following tours, Around Lake Michigan, Autumn in New England, Mystery IV and Mystery V departures.
